The gooseneck is around 200mm long and has an excellent sucker on it with a ratchet clamp for good adhesion. This allows you to stick the product to modern cars which have a windscreen set quite some way back from the dashboard where you actually want the phone.

The gooseneck is very good quality and keeps the phone commendably stable - though I found on test that I did prefer to have it 'grounded out' on the dash especially when I was punching numbers into the phone!

The phone release is brilliant - it's very slow acting so if you have a slim phone you can just press the release for a second and then remove the phone and then when you re-insert the phone it doesn't need you to clamp it up much to re-secure the phone. I have seen some with no 'damping' on the release and they spring open to maximum straight away, which makes re-fitting the phone a 2 handed faff. This autoleads one really is better than that.

Also of note is that it comes with a 3M adhesive backed fitting disc should you want to sucker it to something with a pattern on it like a dash top in a truck or whatever.

If you look at the photo you will also see a small plastic part there which is actually a Nokia compatible handsfree mount - so if you have a Nokia phone with a broken handsfree mount or you don't want to drill your car this could be a good solution.

Finally - the price - it's seriously reduced from High Street level because we bought 2 pallet loads of them!! :-)
